Scholarship shall be awarded at the Lafayette Chapter’s May meeting. The Foundation Board of Trustees* shall make selection of the winning candidate prior to the scholarship award from a listing of all applicants and after communication with the chairman of the respective department of study of the winning applicant. Application deadline will be April 23rd, 2017.
Applicants must be a currently enrolled upper division or graduate student in an earth science discipline of Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering or closely related field at any accredited University and have maintained a minimum 3.0 grade point average out of a 4.0 scale, both overall and in the major field of study, and which must be maintained to remain eligible for additional consideration. The applicant must submit a fully completed Foundation application with three (3) recommendations.
