Biography
Dr. Jacob Jin
Dr. Jin has integrated industry, academic, management, and investment experience across Asia, America, and the Middle East. He has been dedicated to commercializing clean technology in the fossil industry, and industrializing clean energy. His investment portfolio includes biotechnology, geothermal energy, smart microgrid, hydrocarbon exploration & production, etc. He worked at BP America, Weatherford, and Blade Energy Partners, Energy & Geoscience Institute at the University of Utah. He has published 20+ papers in peer-reviewed journals and SPE conferences. Dr. Jin holds a Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
Abstract
The latest advances of bio-chemical technology in petroleum industry will be shared by introducing field cases of production enhancement in Wyoming, Kansas, California, Texas, and Canada. As for the challenges of water breakthrough and paraffin deposition in mature fields, we will share some insights on the field development plan of improving waterflooding conformance and preventing the deposition of paraffin with advanced bio-chemical technology. The unconventional shale EOR pilots in the Permian Basin sponsored by the US Department of Energy will be discussed as well, and we are actively seeking for the leverage of Permian experience to Louisiana.
